Entertainment Giant located in midtown seeks an Application Support Analyst for an immediate long term temp position.
Responsibilities inlcude:
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support of production software solutions included in the Corporate Applications Maintenance & Support portfolio. This function includes:
i. Day-to-day incident, problem and release management
ii. Tracking incident and problem reports as well as enhancement requests
iii. System administration functions
iv. Training coordination
v. Documentation support
vi. Integration support
vii. User and help desk liaison
viii. Testing
ix. Quality assurance
x. Technical assistance
• Assist in predelivery software maintenance activities related to the promotion to production of new software solutions (both vendor and in-house developed) within the parameters of the IS&T standards for change control, including, but not limited to: planning for the logistics of supporting the system, ensuring supportability of the system, and planning for the transition of the system from development to production.
• Work with Application Developers and Project Managers to ensure that all Application Maintainability Packages (aka “run books”) are properly documented and vigorously pursued
• Ensure proper post-implementation support and performance to meet business needs
• Manage and test client data, including mapping data, coordinating test files, and facilitating data transfer with client.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the applications users and desktop support teams on all aspects of application deployment, training and support, including:
i. Installation
ii. Configuration
iii. Super user training
iv. End user training
v. First and second tier support
vi. First and second tier troubleshooting
B. Client Relationship
• Understand the internal workings, roles/responsibilities and workflow processes within the client organizations
• Nurture relationships within the supported client organizations
• Strive to provide high quality services to our business customers as a support contact for our applications
• Manage diverse and potentially demanding business customers in a professional, courteous manner
C. Project Responsibilities
• Ability to manage small projects
• Participate in the planning for deployment, training and application supportability
• Assist in developing acceptance testing scripts and executing user acceptance testing
• Assist in developing documentation and help files
• May assist the Project Manager (or Director) in the creation of project plans for larger implementations (i.e. greater than 3 months in duration)
• Assisting in the overall support of IS&T projects so that they are:
i. Implemented in line with the needs of the business and its current goals
ii. Prioritized to deliver the greatest value to the business
D. Internal Process
• Clear, consistent, regular communication with business customers and IS&T peers
• Provide accurate status reporting as required by IS&T management
• Adherence to the IS&T Change Management process: this includes documenting all changes to existing production applications, entry of information in the change management system, and obtaining necessary approvals for changes or promotion to production
E. Strategic
• May be required to participate in application planning meetings and provide input on the most appropriate and effective methods of maintaining applications
Technology skills should include:
Windows XP/Vista/7 desktop platforms
Microsoft Windows Server technologies
Basic networking knowledge
MS Office Suite – Office 2003 and forward (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
SQL Server client/server environment – Visual Studio
SharePoint administration – Knowledge of MOSS 2007
Familiarity with client deployment tools (Microsoft SMS)
Microsoft Reporting Services knowledge a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Technical analysis of complex business systems. The position requires sufficient technical expertise combined with an understanding of business requirements. The employee must possess the ability to understand the underlying technologies of the system (most notably SQL, VB, VB.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, Web Services etc.)
• Must have substantial experience with Microsoft Office and other enterprise desktop productivity software. Experience with Legal, Financial, Rights, and Entertainment software packages is a big plus
• The ability to assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, products and tools used in the application maintenance environment
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• The ability to assist in systems design and the assessment of a number of factors such as the availability of computer resources, effect of the system on computer performance, business productivity and profitability, manpower resources, etc.
• Must have strong interpersonal and organization skills and be able to communicate clearly with many levels of co-workers, technical management, customers and/or external vendors
• Must have a knowledge of systems development life cycle with emphasis on testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Must be able to work in a team environment or as a sole contributor
• Working knowledge of the Cable, Broadcast Network and Entertainment industries a plus
• May be required to possess in depth knowledge of Corporate and Divisional Legal department business process and challenges
JOB EXPERIENCE
2-3 Years related IT experience
EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
Compensation: $30-$32 per hour
